Any proper record stores in Perth?

I found Dada Records but they won't even let you sample records. Who's gonna pay 30 bucks on a record that you don't know?

Does anyone know any other stores in Perth that sell hip-hop vinyl?

Not one reply to my post. That kinda confirms my impression of Perth (as far as Hip-Hop goes). I went to EVERY SINGLE spot that sells vinyl (and I could find in the yellow pages) and I swear to god, all the stores combined had like 100 Hip-Hop records. 100 records in a city the size of Perth.

And what is it with record stores not letting listen to the records they charge 45 bucks for.

WTF

Funnily enough there is a Next Level Records store in the city... Its downstairs, not upstairs like Sydney - and its kinda more dance based I think although I did pick up some hip-hop goodies.

Also Perth is the home of Perthfection Records - a company dedicated to keeping wax alive, you can have anything cut by them in any quantities. Good stuff.

78's used to be awesome but I haven't been there for a few years. Worth checking though. I remember they used to let people listen to CDs on headphones before buying so possibly would let you listen to vinyl beforehand too.

man that is said to hear, there was a time when Dada was close to the best record store in Australia for hip hop. They looked like they were getting rid of most of their stock last time i was back there.

next level is (or was) pretty poor as far as hip hop goes, actually surprised they're still open. im guessing pawel doesnt have his store anymore

have a good one
