I realised I'm in desperate need of some good drums, does anyone know of any good sites or packs for download?

No doubt, but this is 2011, basically all the dopest breaks have been digitally recorded and upped to the internet. So it's kinda pointless buying
records for that particular break you want that's already been uploaded.

The point is owning the break. Having the wax.
Theres a file called EveryBreakEver that has heaps of breaks, I downloaded it before I started digging properly.

There are alotta records out there...
if you want all your drums to sound the same as everyone else's, thats fine with me... however there are plenty of breaks outside of "300 Greatest
breaks" or whatever its called, and if everyone keeps using the same premo or alchemist kit everyones drums come from the same place...
The Maschine drums are gonna be a prime example of this, whilst it is an amazing tool, it will encourage people to become lazy due to having a large
library of drums very easily accessible...
For me the beat making process has always begun at the Record store, not at the mp or on the computer or even worse at a blog... i like to know the
signal chain my samples go through before it reaches my mpc...
Id rather not sample a drum that has been put on a record then sampled through some shitty audio interface, run through an eq, compressed then
released on a breaks compilation that was then bought and ripped to itunes made as an mp3 then downloaded?
I know thats a fair rant... but hey you all can do whatever you want...

Each to their own, it may sound lazy but I like to focus on getting the sample and the idea across, I used to think I should only sample from vinyl
for almost everything, but that just isn't logical to me anymore.
Either way, you're far more accomplished and have 10 times more equipment than I do, so you win!

Its not about winning, or how much equipment people have, i'm a hoarder, and i cant bring myself to sell things and streamline...

Getting out there and diggin for new drums is what its all about but theres nothing wrong with utilising kits sometimes ... Layering drums, messing
with the original sample can give you a unique sound.
But yeah one of the best breaks ive ever found (on wax) was on a Mexican record from an op shop in the hills so def dont assume that everything has
been found and upped into the digital realm.

Its all in the layering, your selection of sounds you layer, tuning and filtering. Even then your final sound will also heavy depend on the mixing and
mastering. If you choice not to believe this you can buy my drums for $20 a disk and they will make your beats KNOCK!

getting this now. only started to sample breaks and percussion recently, and started noticing how many other producers do it (sample breaks).
edit: also vark's is right. i see / hear of alot of people utilising the same breaks / samples even, by getting the same records other people have
used.
by looking and diggin yourself, you will no doubt pick up something that might not have apealed to a producer before you.
i have found some of my best samples on some of the worst looking / worst sounding genres on wax.
