Getting costed in public
whats your standpoint on this?
Generally if a random asks me for some bus fair money or a ciggarrette i tell them no unless im in a good mood or i believe their story is just
(towards currency obviously). i only allow myself to get costed when ive got a load of loose change on me and for the sake of descreasing the weight
of the wallet give it away to charity tins some stores have on the counter. but if its a salesman of some sort then its an obvious and definitive fuck
off on the spot.
asking cos i reckoned the other day that the continuous increase in the price of ciggarettes will cause people to become less lenient towards giving
away a freebie and in by doing so, cause peeps to get more upset and pissed off when they get refused because it'll happen more often. and often these
scavengers have god knows what pumping through their veins and could turn agressive or even violent any moment. dont mean to digress from the topic
but its a tax on peoples availble safety on top the government tax which im sure their swimming in.

yeah its hard sometimes, cos they come out of nowhere and give you no time to think. My nature is good (for them) I give them a 2 or 1 dollar coin. I
dunno, I get they are being scabs and dont work and stuff but you lose dignity asking for change and whether they are broke or not if they are in the
position that they feel they need to do that then they probably do need the cash.

I give more often that not, but it's a whimsical thing with who I choose. I guess I don't think about it, but if I feel threatened at all I say no and
move on. I make the effort to buy the Big Issue, and always "tip" the seller.
It was different in Europe especially Scotland and Ireland, there was a lot of people out on the streets, and it made you become indifferent about it
a bit. I can walk through Perth city during the day for a few hours and maybe get asked maximum twice. Plus a few Big Issue sellers promoting their
wares in the usual spots, and maybe one or two silent beggers with the signs I guess.
It's sad, whatever the circumstances that have brought them to that point, it's still sad.

consistent in his story for a good 10-15 minutes

theres a crew of professional homeless dudes who do a loop every day of CBD up to carlton and back. one bloke with a big scraggly beard and army
jacket and then his minions or whatever. been doing it for well over a decade, probably make enough money to get by. used to give coins, only

now don't get me wrong I try and do things for charities and worthwhile causes including the homeless. I donate old books/records/whatever to
different charities and often buy stuff from them
in fact just now I picked up David Lee Roth's autobiography for just £1.25 which will keep me lolling for a week and no doubt keep a family of boogers
fed for a month, which I believe is a win/win situation
but giving money to dudes on the street doesn't help in the long run, ask anyone who works for Shelter or whatever the fuck
