You want me to compare that stupid Nter track to the first #1 Australian hiphop song, ever? I don't understand why you want me to do this, or what
that has to do with my voiced-hate of derolic Australian gangster-rap, but...
Hilltops song was acknowledgement of prolonged-support and could be viewed as a metaphysical 'thank you' to everyone that believed Aussie hip-hop had
merit and deserved to be accepted as a genuine art-form. It broke down mainstream barriers and introduced an entire new audience to a scene that was
struggling, effectively putting it on the map and allowing artists to believe that they could make money, even a living, from street-poetry derived
from struggling Australian economies/lifestyle. The song was a great marketing tool to let the entire world know of Australian identity, and
introduced unique colloquialisms to an audience that hadn't ever heard the Australian sound. The song wasn't serious and didn't attempt to be - a
process that accidently encouraged recognition and enforced beneficial Australian stereotypes. The song, which most of us know every word to but
refuse to sing along to, was not written to be meaningful, but successful earnt a reputation that opened doors for almost every Australian MC that has
ever staged a sell-out show, here and abroad. Ask any of them and they will certainly boast of its meaning.
That NTER track is two-minutes of Australian tripe; a song written about nothing which goes nowhere and exhibits a recycled formula, unashamedly
Americanised with lacklustre lyrics, a confusing film-clip and a general feeling of ‘tried to hard’. It tells no story, it has no depth and appears to
over-glamorise the exact social-problems that the singer boasts about ‘struggling’ against. The song exists as a double-negative, which is ironically
missed by the morons it was written for.

Industry. Hip hop is not music its a lifestyle, all elements even the criminal element.

I thought that NTER track was pretty cool, I watched the whole thing and want to watch it again, and will probably watch it a few more times over the
next few weeks.
It's interesting and engaging. Given that I probably only make it 30 seconds of the way through about 90% of new Australian hip-hop, this song offers
things that others don't.

Their techniques look pretty Australian to me. Wouldnt you say all Australian rap is Americanised audibly and visually displaying graffiti in film
clips etc.

account.
