Sound Summit is a 4 day festival of independent and innovative music featuring national and international artists, occurring on the October long
weekend (27th - 30th September) alongside This Is Not Art annual festival in Newcastle, NSW.
Since 2000, Sound Summit has provided musicians, producers, composers, labels, promoters, industry and fans a chance to perform, discuss, learn,
teach, interact and argue in front of an audience of like minded peers in an environment that encourages the global exchange of ideas, techniques and
trends.
In 2012 Sound Summit will continue to present an exciting schedule of live music events alongside a day program of panels, presentations, screenings,
workshops and discussions. The focus as always is on independent and innovative music and as such live music showcases aim to reflect diversity and
originality in contemporary live music practice.

I've always had a great time at the events put on over this long weekend, there's often an interesting amount of hip hop related content, performances
and workshops.
