If you have a cracked version of Hip Hop ejay in english it good. Mines in fucking German so it takes me ages to work out how to save sometimes lol.

Fruityloops is ok, I find it a little too "Techno" even with the tempo jacked down.

Well, im getting pissed off at my basslines, cant get em sounding right...

I wanna know what people think is best for hiphop bassline production...

Samples?
Synth?
Bass Soundfonts?

i use a free program called modplug because i'm used to an old program called impulse tracker which is similar. in fact impulse tracker was written by an adelaide guy Jeffrey Lim

try sampling a dope bass sound and changing the pitch for different notes. because it's low-end you can get away with alot more with stretching etc.

I'm pretty much the same Cool Edit 2 with all plugins from waves gold bundle and stuff and using fruityloops. People will say you can't do good material with it, well you can just find really good samples and just work with them spend time on them and no time at all you create a beat.

If you can't afford an MPC like myself @ the moment its the way to go....

http://www.mp3.com.au/track.asp?id=38646

is a link to my new track have a listen to that beat created in fruityloops and cool edit and the final mastering was done in cool edit. The vocals and lyrics are bit wakish o well I spend more time on the beats.

Peace

Guys, check out Buzz.

http://www.buzzmachines.com

It's a free program, and leaves all these other programs like fruity and all them for dead. Basically it's made up of different machines which you connect together as you would a real studio. There's 2 types, generaters and effects. There's new machines released all the time. Generators are musical instruments, and there's 100's available. Everything from drum machines, samplers, traxkers, fm synths, analog, granular synthesis..you name it! Then effects can be eq's, reverbs, delays, mixers, compression, etc, etc. It's very powerful!

You've got this page where everything is connected. Start with a mixer and say a few samplers. Need to eq any of these? Then just connect an eq between the sampler and mixer. FX sends work much the same. This program can do so much, and it's damn tight too.

I've heard some amazing stuff done with Buzz. And there's a huge community suporting it aswell.

Go check it out. It may seem hard to understand at first, so follow the tutorial which is simple. Then once you learn it, you'll appreciate how powerful it is.

That Why you have to find your own samples. the latest version even has a "Hip-Hop" Folder. The program is dope-true,---that why creted my own samples, and "Borrowed" some from other programs. I found an Indian Program named Swarshala, installed the Demo, copied the samples folder, then uninstalled it. -i have about 500mb of samples that i collected to use in Fruity

Need some? Find ur own

I do Love Fruityloops. Ive been using it since 1996. Not a promoter, actually I havent even purchased a legal copy.
But i will soon.-its very flexible. i can play any sort off Plugin.

Oh and if you want good bass lines-use either a very low Tremolo string or a TS404 plugin:D
