Show some respect cunts! This man NEARLY produced for I-20. I FUCKING 20!! The question we should be asking here is: can P-Money even walk the streets of New York without being mobbed for autographs?

and the dude saying that the beats coming out of the commercial scene in u.s are mud compared to ozzie beats. that is a joke. the underground scene is atleast 2 years behind the commercial scene at the moment in terms of production. look at atmosphere and all the other u.g cats using beats justblaze could have made 2 years ago. celph titleds production better than kanye west? lol

the reason why money said that, is becuase the oz scene is actually where nz was at 5 years ago. a bunch of oldskool heads and oldskool clones preaching about accents and keeping shit native. and after a while, people realised what they were doing wasnt what they loved about hiphop. so instead of trying to change hiphop in the name of righteousness, they started doing what they liked. and guess what, those oldskool heads are still talking the shit, and the people who actually like hiphop are the ones making it. you'll understand in 5 years time.

i thought piehole diplomatically presented his opinion and it is as valid as an opinion gets..

when australians drop all the bullshit we're on we'll start making good music, and thats the bottom line... like it or hate it, the best artists in australia will tell u we've gotta a far fuckin way to go.

and to not be heavily influenced by american hip hop is just ridiculous, i cant be bothered making a point cause no one is gonna respect it so fuck it.

haha...

well i will tell you all a little story.

i live in a small town in central queensland maybe 10,000 people, and about 5-6 people in my whole town are hip-hop heads. The rest are either Rock junkies or Pop fiends. Now for a long time all i listened to was American hip-hop. Sure i loved it. this was hip-hop at its rawest.

Then one day a mate showed me some Bliss'neso. I freaked out!!! i couldn't believe my ears. i had no idea that there was an Aussie hip-hop scene all together.

Now theres been some dope shit dropped in Australia and to tell the truth the only nz shit i have heard is Scriibe p-money and deceptikonz. i saw scribe and p-money at Big Day out and i liked P-Money but i thought scribe sounded like a NZ version of Eminem, same kind of flows and such.

I think its totally wack that he raps with an American accent though. there is no doubt about that. Denying your heritage while creating a piece of art is totally against what music was all about in the first place.

I think alot of people on this forum seem to be stuck in a rut thinking that hip-hop was the beginning of alll music. There were millions of artists out there making music an art form not a money making venture.

any way, i have rambled on with incoherent ideas which dont really link up.

what im trying to say is:

Australias hip-hop scene is 100% more advanced that NZ's because Aussies make there hip-hop, their music, an art form, not a business like NZ seems to be doing. When P-Money talks about that hes probably really talking about how much money he is making.

I produce some beats, and i find my beats are more influenced by Jazz & hip-hop. I make these tracks in my bedroom on a computer which was half stolen, half bought, with a program that was downloaded off the internet for free (pirate software is cool) and i churn out about 10 tracks a week. Now noone cept my 5-6 hip-hop head buddies hear them, but i feel its all worth it just to hear them, hip-hop heads, say that my beats are dope. Sure, noone internationally has even heard of me, but hell i make my music as an art form, and thats what it will always stay.

Shit im rambling, but i spose im trying to make another point:

Music Is Art

there is no two ways about it. As with any art it is a piece of your emotions and feelings. About whats going on in your head at the time of creation. What is obviously going through these NZ rappers/producers heads when they make music is MONEY.

anyway, i have dribbled long enough.

i would also like to add:

at my high school we have a bunch of fellas who smoke too much weed and think they are going to be bringing out the next Gangster rap CD. They hate Aussie hip-hop, love NZ hip-hop. So go figure.

we are arguing about the j-wess of nz
aren't they on sony with 1200 techniques

they made 12 weeks at number one
did anybody listen to the audio

if i was on sony i'd be expecting to chart and all
and the track that did it i heard on the radio today
its a pretty simple anthem style thing
the reason it did well is coz he was reppin nz hip hop

i think in a way, we are going to end up like them
big record companies are going to invest in ozhiphop
now that the hoods sold records they know it can happen
its only a matter of time before some usher/justin timberlake clone
gets 'crowned king' by sony or BMG

if this sounds bitter its coz i am
i'm going to hate that guy, coz he is the symbol of the death of hiphop to me
i think i'm going to take up mogolian throat singing

Aus artists in the beginning rapped with fake accents.
Now we have our own identity - and rep ourselves.

NZ artists still pretend to be american and are copying their identity.

so who has progressed???

And who is ahead...

we know, so why the fuck would we give 2 shits about what anyone else thinks... continue to stay aussie people and if people don't like it fuckem... if people want to diss it... fuckem... if people think that they are better... fuckem.

I eagerly await the first UK or US artist who puts on an aussie accent for exposure so we can laugh our asses off at them....
