Each year since 2012 the Hilltop Hoods have been running their initiative competition so that artists can created something of professional quality, advance their career as well as give them some great experience for the future. The Hilltop Hoods Initiative offers an up and coming Australian Hip Hop or Soul artist a grant to help fund the manufacture, marketing and distribution of a release of five or more songs. Along with cold, hard cash, the winning artist will also receive legal advice courtesy of David Vodicka and Media Arts Lawyers, which can be used for general legal or specific career advice, and a love police ATM merchandise start up kit (to the value of $500).
